Percussion Course
From age 9 with Grade 2 in piano, guitar or other non-orchestral instrument.
The Percussion Course will take place this year from Sunday 29th June until Wednesday 2nd July. Players will learn how to play timpani, snare drum, cymbals, samba drums, xylophone and more
The course will run each afternoon for 4 days. There will be a percussion workshop from 2pm - 4.30pm. Students will then join the chamber music students in extra activities - eg: sport, swimming, orienteering etc - then will have an evening meal, followed by a nightly informal concert.
The percussion course would suit students who have Grade 2 or equivalent in any non-orchestral instrument. Applicants should have a good level of sight-reading and should be a minimum of age 9.
Fees:
€185 for 4-day course – fee includes all tuition, extra activities and evening meal.
Non-members of DYO must pay a €15 family membership fee to the DYO Association. Costs are kept down as far as possible by the use of voluntary help.
Reductions: €50 reduction for each subsequent member of one family on the course, or on any other Aravon summer course.
